Black Engineer of the Year awards produced by Fandango
BALTIMORE—March 8, 2005—Fandango Special Events, Baltimore's fastest growing event management company, was awarded the contract to produce 19th Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference. This three-day conference was hosted by Lockheed Martin Corporation, the Council of Engineering Deans of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Black Engineer of the Year Magazine.
Two thousand professionals and students in the fields of science, engineering and technology came together to learn, network with one another and celebrate the successes of the award recipients. The guests' time was filled with seminars and luncheons, and culminated with the awards ceremony on Saturday evening. This event, appropriately occurring during Black History Month, recognized the outstanding achievement of Black men and women in the field of science and technology. The top honor of Black Engineer of the Year was presented to William D. Smith, P.E., president of the engineering consulting firm, Parsons, Brickenhoff, Quade & Douglas, Inc.
Fandango was contracted for complete technical production and A/V support services of the six events during the three-day conference. Fandango provided an audiovisual package including projectors and screens, cameras, Teleprompters and a plasma screen television. In addition to the technical equipment, Fandango also organized a crew of technical support to operate all of the equipment and manage the sound and lighting.
Founded in 1989, Fandango has grown from a small prop development business to a 120-employee event design, production, and management company with a national reputation for producing innovative signature events.
