Fandango hired to take Baltimore brand campaign on the road
“Get In On It” Snowball Tour introduces City’s sweet treats to Mid-Atlantic this summer
BALTIMORE, MD?—July 18, 2006—This summer, Fandango Productions, the region’s leading events management company, will undertake a cool campaign to heat up interest in Baltimore as a travel destination: The “Get In On It” Snowball Tour 2006.
Fandango received a contract from the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association to take its new brand campaign, “Get In On It,” to key markets in the Mid-Atlantic. Featuring a long-time local treat unique to the City, the mobile marketing tour is expected to reach 10,000 residents at sites in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, PA, and Bethany Beach, DE.
The tour will also make stops at major events and destinations in Baltimore and Annapolis, MD, as part of BACVA’s efforts to increase awareness among area residents.
The driving force of the marketing tour is the Snowball Mobile, a colorful, custom-designed ice cream truck that will dispense free snowballs in popular, campaign-themed flavors: Port Red (Egg Custard), Starboard Green (Spearmint) and City Blue (Skylite). Tour ambassadors will also distribute branded Baltimore brochures with every snowball.
The Snowball Tour is Fandango’s second “Get In On It” Campaign initiative. In May, 2006, Fandango staged an interactive launch for more than several hundred tourism professionals at the City’s renowned Hippodrome Theater. Fandango also conducted an innovative street marketing campaign pre- and post-launch.
